Architectural Award of the Mayor of Szczecin

Winning design for the trophy of the Architectural Award of the Mayor of Szczecin. This prestigious project, in collaboration with the Association of Polish Architects (SARP), aimed to celebrate and promote the remarkable architectural achievements of the city.

Background

The city of Szczecin, located in northern Poland, has witnessed a remarkable transformation over the past decade. With the construction of several modern and internationally acclaimed buildings, Szczecin has established itself as a hub of innovative architecture. The Mayor of Szczecin and the Association of Polish Architects established the award as a means to recognize and promote the outstanding work of local architects in the ci, while also inspiring future generations.

Design Concept

At the heart of this project is the main award trophy, a symbol of innovation and creativity in architectural design. The design concept revolves around the letter “N,” representing the acronym for “Nagroda Architektoniczna” (Architectural Award). The letter “N” is transformed into a mobile form, consisting of two identical elements. These elements can be combined in various ways to create different architectural shapes, reflecting the versatility within the field of architecture.

The materials I selected for the trophy were concrete and wood, which convey a sense of solidity and natural beauty. To integrate the two elements, I used a polished steel shaft, which allows for the mobility of the statue.

In addition to the trophy, I also had the opportunity to design the accompanying medals and diplomas. These pieces follow a similar design language, featuring the mobile forms of the letter “N” in smaller, more compact sizes.

Visual Identity

To complement the branding of the Architectural Award, I created a logo and promotional materials. These materials further explore the concept of mobile forms, which transform into various architectural structures. This playful and dynamic approach creates an engaging experience for viewers, capturing the vibrant spirit of Szczecin’s architecture and celebrating its ever-evolving nature.
