I’m making my long-time dream come true and joined a ceramics course at Stepney Green City Farm. It’s a quite unexpected place in the middle of London as it actually is a farm with goats, sheep, chickens, rabbits and fruit and veg patches. In the central part of the farm there are some traditional crafts workshops – iron smith, wood carving and the pottery one which I have joined.
Turning clay turns out to be quite tricky, comparing to wood turning – you really have to rely on your hand movement which has to be firm and stable, which probably comes with experience.  Anyway I managed to produce a few small bowls and cups that makes me quite proud.
